Director and Senior Physiotherapist

Hi there!  

I’m Julia, one of the directors of our Nest and a Senior Physiotherapist.  I absolutely love working with children and have been privileged to work in this field since graduating in 2012 from the University of South Australia.  

I have extensive experience in providing therapy for a wide range of diagnoses including cerebral palsy, developmental delay and neurological conditions.  I have worked in a range of settings including aquatic physiotherapy, intensive blocks, community based therapy, group development, equipment prescription, supervision and have spent time in a senior clinical lead position.  I am passionate about building relationships with families to create an environment where you feel heard, where you can ask me any question you need and we can work together to reach your child’s full potential.  

I want to empower parents/caregivers through education and focus on goal-based therapy which is built into everyday routines.  I enjoy making our sessions playful and fun while working towards goals through activities that are based on the child’s individual interests.

A little bit about me!  

I am a Mum of three and in my spare time we like to go away in our caravan and spend time in nature with our fur-child Milly.

Catrin Roberts

Director and Senior Physiotherapist

Hello!

My name is Catrin (or Cat!) and I am a

co-director and a Senior Physiotherapist at Nest.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (with honours) from the University of Salford in the UK in 2007 and since graduating, I have been lucky to work in a range of different clinical settings in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.

My passion is supporting families and children living with a disability and providing a safe and fun environment to learn and develop new skills.  I love getting to know my clients and their families and working collaboratively with them and their therapy team to achieve their individual therapy goals.

My career to date has enabled me to experience different areas of paediatric physiotherapy including aquatic physiotherapy, school visits, kindergarten visits, equipment prescription and leadership roles including supervision in children's disability services.  I have experience in supporting clients with a range of conditions including acquired Injuries, neurological diagnoses, developmental delay, cerebral palsy and neurodiverse conditions.

I am a Mum of two and when I'm not spending time with my family, you can find me playing sport with friends!!

Katherine Cottrell

Senior Physiotherapist

Hi!

 I'm Katherine, a Senior Physiotherapist at Nest. I love working with children and their families and have been working in paediatrics since graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2014.

I have worked extensively across home, education, community and clinic settings providing physiotherapy services to children of all ages. I have experience with a wide range of conditions including cerebral Palsy, neuromuscular conditions, genetic conditions and developmental delays. I love supporting families through all kinds of "firsts" - first time starting childcare, kindergarten or school, first time achieving new skills such as sitting, walking or climbing on the playground, or first walking frames or wheelchairs to improve mobility and participation. I'm passionate about finding each child's unique strengths and motivators so we can work together to achieve new skills and greater independence.

I am experienced in providing a range of physiotherapy services including aquatic physiotherapy, intensive therapy, group sessions, transfer and positioning support, and equipment prescription.
